Nike One Gold Golf Balls
The Nike One Gold is another in the line of balls Nike has created for distance games. It provides many advantages over the Nike One Black, but an experienced player's personal preference will dictate the best ball choice for his game. Where the Nike One Black is best for distance at the sacrifice of short game control and spin, the Nike One Gold is best for irons, wedges, and shots on the green. The increased control from the Gold is achieved by the four piece ball construction. Two mantle layers surrounding the core help to transfer energy from all shots better, and these help to pull some weight from the center. These are designed to reduce spin from driver shots, but the spin is still greater than the Nike One Black or the Maxfli Tour Fire. A soft urethane cover is coated with 432 dimples designed to increase lift and stability in flight. Here is where these balls perform better than the other Nike One models, as they reach greater heights off of driver shots than the Black or Platinum.
Some players might find the soft urethane cover to not be durable enough for their play, but the softness is similar to that of other urethane coated balls.
Experienced golfers with fast swings who are looking for a premium short game ball with exceptional control will find the Nike One Gold to suit their needs. The only sacrifice is the decreased distance and greater spin from driver shots.
