The increased control from the Gold is achieved by the four piece ball construction. Two mantle layers surrounding the core help to transfer energy from all shots better, and these help to pull some weight from the center. These are designed to reduce spin from driver shots, but the spin is still greater than the Nike One Black or the Maxfli Tour Fire. A soft urethane cover is coated with 432 dimples designed to increase lift and stability in flight. Here is where these balls perform better than the other Nike One models, as they reach greater heights off of driver shots than the Black or Platinum.
